DON'T PUT LINKS IN ALT TEXT

simple URLs are fine, eg "you can get this shirt at https://croptop(dot)me"

but long ones?? nooooooooo. and definitely drop the "https://"

this is for a few reasons.

firstly: alt text is for accessibility!! can you click a link in alt text???

#AltText Style Guide Tip #37:

when posting multiple photos of the same subject, you absolutely do not need to repeat your descriptions

for example, you're posting 4 photos of your tuxedo cat being a silly little guy.

do not repeat: "my tuxedo cat being a silly little guy" 4 times

Diaspora that fled from an oppressive regime or residents recently liberated from it, tend to vote for the opposite side of the political spectrum. I notice that lots of Cubans, Eastern Europeans, Chinese vote conservative to populist far right, as a response after their traumatic experience.

Which in my personal opinion is just plain stupid, because both are equally undemocratic and evil, but am not surprised.

@whiza Tip for getting more eyeballs on your work across fedi: use hashtags, and add alt text to your photos. Hashtags make you more “discoverable” by the broader network. And a lot of us are pretty serious about alt text, where we won’t boost any pics without it. So your odds of getting boosted around to different servers go way up (or way down, without). Example #AltText for your photo here: “a person has their back exposed for a large newly-done tattoo in black ink of an elegant sea monster swirling between lilies.”
