#HealthPolicy conversations about #ObesityCare are shifting. Instead of a frame of frivolous #WeightLoss, the focus is increasingly on unnecessary deaths and suffering that results from poor #AccessToCare.

At #ADA2024, it's plain that the top 3 problems for #ObesityCare are scale, scale, and scale. It stems from inequitable systems, exorbitant pricing, and Inadequate supply that sum to poor #AccessToCare.

One of the things we see often in our patients are people who thought they had to make a tough decision between paying rent or a vet bill for emergency treatment. we pride ourselves on removing that consideration as much as we can to get the vet care a pet needs.

But it’s time we openly talk about how the high cost of housing, and the prohibition on pets in rental properties is making the most vulnerable humans even more vulnerable.

With Obesity Action Coalition board members Michele Tedder, Sunil Daniel, and economist Tim Dall, a Pennsylvania legislative briefing reminds us we’re paying a steep price for #untreated #obesity. Better #AccessToCare makes economic and human sense.

Wow! It seems that @elilillyandco is not shy about shaking up the dismal state of #AccessToCare for #obesity. #LillyDirect may or may not help. But it will likely spark some changes.

Has Novo Nordisk handed Lilly a golden opportunity to take leadership in the market for #ObesityMeds that Novo methodically built? Will #AccessToCare improve with the launch of #Zepbound. We have guarded optimism.

“Surely, health insurers, including employers and Medicare, can find a way to pay for these extraordinary drugs,” says the Washington Post.
Yes, we are seeing openness to better #AccessToCare for #obesity.

Oh boy, what a disconnect we have at #OW2023! A tantalizing future for #ObesityCare crashes into a bloody mess in the present of high drug prices, constrained supply, and poor #AccessToCare.

The rigamarole that gets in the way of #AccessToCare is a nuisance to people with plenty of resources. But for marginalized patients, it can become a showstopper that widens #HealthDisparities.
