Though when are we going to work on the amenities at the #Tacoma and #Seattle stations? Making these into proper destinations in and of themselves would go a long way to making the service feel more comfortable and convenient.

The #Amtrak #Airo train sets cannot come soon enough. This agency badly needs equipment just to provide additional capacity on existing routes to keep up with demand, without even adding in anything new.

US #HighSpeedRail has a lot of fans in the fediverse #urbanism community, but IMO, maintenance of our existing conventional rail #transportation network is ultimately of far greater importance to the health of the nation and economy.

It does the heart good to read about the major #infrastructure improvements that are being made, while I wait for #Amtrak to finish building the first level-boarding platform and properly new stationhouse in #Vermont. #Airo trains in 2025!
