Can someone please #ExplainToMeLikeIm5 WHY THE FUCK DOES A #CHARGER NEED "#Cloud" and "#AI" 'features' or a shitty, non-self adjusting #Clock ???

Worse even: This isn't like some fancy "Lab Equipment" to do custom charge voltage and amperage curves or something where said settings may come in handy (Like needing to charge or discharge a custom cell / battery pack design/chemistry), but it's just a giant #GaN #USB #PowerDelivery block, so there is no reason to shove an #LCD (or even #OLED) into that case to begin with!

Das Anker Prime 200W Ladegerät liegt samt Stromkabel und Verpackung auf einem Schreibtisch, im Hintergrund unscharf ein Monitor mit macOS-Desktop.

I just realised why my #ankerprime would not switch on when I pressed the button when I first got it:

It is to avoid accidental activation of the power pack during transport…

That’s why it won’t do anything until you first connect it to a charger…

I wonder if we could re-activate that mode on demand (it could come handy).

Healthy batteries need to be stored at around 50%. But the first charge should also be done in full…

I wonder if this is why the #ankerprime has that initial behaviour: It shows the real battery state for a few seconds but then displays the % of the remaining difference to convince the user to let it do the full charge (as they see “0%”).

But I think that has caused some reviewer to incorrectly report that the battery is delivered empty (which is unlikely as it would break safety rules).
