At work last week we quietly passed 1 #exabyte of #data stored on #tape. We celebrated with #cake, baked and decorated by Mrs. Strange Quark. She is very attentive to details. The cake is precisely dimensioned from the data sheet for a 50 TB 3592 JF Enterprise cartridge. It even has a sugar #barcode on the side.

I recorded a quick video showing how I tapped into the power and data inside the barcode scanner to interface to the #esp32 running #esphome. I'm working on some QoL tweaks to improve the interface to #grocy to allow for more use-cases.

I also clipped the pins down a bit so the whole thing is a bit more compact.

Once the esphome code is a bit less shameful I'll post it on github.

Seven new cards were uploaded in the site. These cards comes from the comic magazine "Shougaku san-nen-sei" 「小学三年生」number 11 from year '92.

There were lots of cards included as a present in several japanese magazines.

The rare thing is to find those cards not removed in the magazine, like displayed in photos.
