An old OT-64 SKOT armoured personnel carrier sits hidden inside a barn in Poland. A strange location to discover a Cold War-era machine.

The OT-64 was developed in 1959 as a joint project between Poland and Czechoslovakia. Production ran from 1963 to 1971, with about 4,500 units built.

The 8×8 design allowed the vehicle to handle difficult ground, able to float and move across water as well as land.

@14mission @ChuckMcManis Hands down the best "barn find" I have run across so far.

Heathkit EC-1 (not fully assembled). Oldest computer I have owned. (I sold it, however... not sure if to someone collecting it or a museum!). It was in a rat infested barn (really)!! Only the knobs there had been attached, nothing wired up, all the parts in a box (though, I moved them all out of that box... as I mentioned, the barn was rat infested!!! lol).

Inside the same cardboard box, a number of small glass bottles, a small open glass jar, a few paper wrapped things one of which reveals what looks like blue sealing rings and a small cardboard box with partially damaged text that reads something like "juctas ampalem", containing several small dark glass ampules. The date on it reads 1978-03-31.

These types of vehicles are more typically called “airport crash tenders” rather than “fire trucks/engines”. An airport crash tender is a specialised fire engine designed for airfield use.

These are 1970s/1980s Denis-Thorneycroft Nubian Major trucks. They were retired in the 1990s, replaced by the next generation of firefighting trucks.

Three bright orange Tucker Sno-Cats remain in a Belgian barn after the 1966 Belgo-Dutch expedition to East Antarctica. While others are in museums, these were kept privately and left in this old barn.

The sides of the vehicles bear the Expédition Antarctique 1966 logo, reportedly designed by Tintin artist Hergé in 1957.

This is an Armoured Personal Carrier (APC), manufactured during the Cold War, which was a joint project by the Polish People’s Republic (PRL) and Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (ČSSR). As well as being an all-terrain 8x8 wheel drive, it is also amphibious!
