Edward Norris Kirk, Presbyterian missionary, says we must love as the Good Samaritan (Luke 10) did. Be like Christ, seek the happiness of those whose character you hate. If that’s too much to ask, why would God allow you in heaven?

I often see the “without holiness” (Heb 12:14) applied to purity, but Kirk applies to love of enemy.

Today we’re asked to acquiese to cruetly cuz victim might be an enemy.

How can you seek others’ happiness?

EDWARD NORRIS KIRK (1802-1874) Lectures on the Parables of our Saviour "You must love as this Samaritan did; love all men; so that like God, you can seek their happiness, while you hate their characters; so that like Christ, you can sacrifice yourself for your enemies. You say: this is requiring too much; then it is requiring too much on your part to ask God to take you to heaven; for this is holiness, and, without holiness, no man can see the Lord."

Always the Ten Commandments, never the #Beatitudes.

Nobody ever asks why, or #WWJD.

There are some people who will tell you that they reject #religion because of the imposition of #guilt, specifically, #Catholicism.

And then when you tell them that the “#Beatitudes are #woke”, they don’t understand and shut down because now you’ve made them feel guilty.

Life is meta af.

If I confess my #humanism and conviction in the #Beatitudes, and some people interpret that as wicked vices, they are telling you everything you need to know.

The Beatitudes are a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles. God promises comfort, healing, and eternal life to those who follow His teachings. #Beatitudes

The Beatitudes are a call to action. They invite us to live a life of service, love, and peace. #Beatitudes

Jesus' Beatitudes are a radical departure from the world's values. They teach us that true fulfillment comes from humility, compassion, and righteousness. #Beatitudes

The Beatitudes offer a blueprint for a truly blessed life. They challenge us to rethink what happiness means and how we can achieve it. #Beatitudes

1. The Beatitudes: Blessed Are the Unexpected (Matthew 5:3-12)

Jesus flipped the script on who’s truly blessed, uplifting the poor in spirit and the meek. Are you ready to embrace a faith that celebrates the outcasts?

2. Table-Turning Fury: When Jesus Got Angry (Matthew 21:12-13)
Watch out! Jesus cleansed the temple, unleashing righteous anger against corruption. This wasn’t just a scene; it was a serious wake-up call about true worship.

3. The Narrow Path: A Dangerous Journey Ahead (Matthew 7:13-14)
Jesus warned that the road to life is narrow and tough. Are you prepared to take the hard path, or are you following the crowd?

Jesus Wasn’t Joking

4. Love Your Enemies: The Ultimate Test of Faith (Matthew 5:44)
Jesus commanded us to love our enemies. This isn’t just a nice idea—it’s a radical lifestyle that challenges everything you think you know about love.

5. The Sheep and the Goats: Who Will Stand With You? (Matthew 25:31-46)
Jesus taught that how we treat the least among us determines our eternal fate. Are you living out His call to serve the marginalized, or are you turning a blind eye? Let’s make it plain as the sun for the loudly self-righteousness bunch trying to destroy YOUR path into peace.

#JesusWasNotJoking

6. Rich Young Ruler: The Price of Discipleship (Mark 10:17-27)
When asked about eternal life, Jesus told him to sell everything. Are you ready to give up your comfort for a greater calling, or is materialism holding you back?

7. The Last Supper: A Sacred Reminder (Luke 22:19-20)
Jesus initiated communion, urging His followers to remember Him. Are you truly reflecting on His sacrifice, or has it become just another ritual?

Jesus Wasn’t Joking About The Least

8. The Great Commission: A Call to Action (Matthew 28:19-20)
Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations. This isn’t a suggestion; it’s a mission. Are you answering the call, or are you sitting on the sidelines?

9. The Woman at the Well: Breaking Barriers (John 4:1-26)
Jesus engaged with a Samaritan woman, shattering social norms. Are you willing to cross boundaries to reach those who feel far from God?

Jesus Asks Men To Cast Stones

10. Resurrection Reality: The Heart of Our Faith (Matthew 28:1-10)
Jesus rose from the dead, claiming victory over death. This is the cornerstone of Christianity—are you living in light of this truth, or is it just a story to you?

Conclusion: Are You Taking Jesus Seriously?

These moments show that #JesusWasntJoking about the radical, life-altering truths He presented. Each teaching calls us to reflect deeply on our faith and actions. Are we embracing His message, or are we getting lost in the noise of modern Christianity? The choice is yours—what will you do with these shocking truths?

One last point.

Biola’s article, “Where Did the Poor Go?: Who Are the Least of These in Matthew?” By Jeannine Brown asks, “Who was Jesus referring to when he spoke of “the least of these”?”

And offers two interpretations:

“The exclusive interpretation understands “the least” to be Christians because of the full phrase used in Matthew 25:40: “the least of these brothers and sisters of mine” (25:40). The alternate, inclusive view understands “the least” as all those who are poor—Christian or not (24:45).” Jul 20, 2015

One last question.

What Would Jesus Anywhere Else In The New Testament Do?

#JesusWasntJoking about wolves in the pulpit. Eternity with Jesus awaits His children. Not His oath keepers.

I doubt if there is in the world a single problem, whether social, political, or economic, which would not find ready solution if men and nations would rule their lives according to the plain teaching of the Sermon on the Mount.

Jesus says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8, ESV).

In what sense may we see God now?

Martin Lloyd-Jones offers some helpful thoughts:

“As with all the other Beatitudes, the promise is partly fulfilled here and now. In a sense there is a vision of God even while we are in this world. Christian people can see God in a sense that nobody else can. The Christian can see God in nature, whereas the non-Christian cannot. The Christian sees God in the events of history. There is a vision possible to the eye of faith that no-one else has. But there is a seeing also in the sense of knowing Him, a sense of feeling He is near, and enjoying His presence. You remember what we are told about Moses in that great eleventh chapter of the Epistle to the Hebrews. Moses endured ‘as seeing him who is invisible.’ That is a part of it, and that is something that is possible to us here and now. ‘Blessed are the pure in heart.’ Imperfect as we are, we can claim that even now we are seeing God in that sense; we are ‘seeing him who is invisible’. Another way we see Him is in our own experience, in His gracious dealings with us. Do we not say we see the hand of our Lord upon us in this and that? That is part of the seeing of God. // But of course that is a mere nothing as compared with what is yet to be.” (Studies in the Sermon on the Mount, vol. 1, p. 114)

So, while the best is yet to come, nevertheless, we may increasingly see God in our lives now.

May you see God!

As per Papa Kiko (that's Pope Francis to y'all), he, Harris, Walz and Jesus are communists:

"Is Jesus a , then? […] If I see the Gospel in a sociological way only, yes, I am a communist, and so too is Jesus. Behind these and Matthew 25 there is a message that is Jesus’ own. And that is to be Christian. The communists stole some of our Christian values. [Laughter.] Some others, they made a disaster out of them.

Didache Ton Dodeka Apostolon (The Way of the Apostles) is 2nd century Christian teaching. (Image is of scholar who found the texts). Common participation in necessaries of life is appointed by God. Not that there is no private property, but that one must not stop ears to need.

Is this the “old time religion” we often hear of?

How can you keep your ears open?

"Thou shalt not turn away from him that is needy; for says he : 'He that stoppeth his ears, that he may not hear the cry of the needy, himself also shall call, and there shall be none to hear him! Thou shalt communi- cate in all things to thy brother, and shalt not say [thy goods] are thine own; for the common participation of the necessaries of life is appointed to all men by God."
