In Ireland and interested in the Early Middle Ages? The Brigid's Worlds conference — with talks from Edel Bhreathnach, Dorothy Bray, Thomas Owen Clancy, Catherine McKenna and Pádraig Ó Riain — takes place this Friday and Saturday (13-14 September) at Maynooth University.

I cannot overstate how impressive the scholars are who will be speaking.

Was Brigit a true feminist icon? Was she even real? Or merely made up by a man to exploit the veneration of a 'pagan' goddess? All this & more!

Thanks #KildareCoCo @hotpress #Intel and all the local people who made the amazing #Brigid1500 Mother Earth concert happen.

Most of all, thanks to the incredible artists Denise Chaila Gemma Hayes, Una Healy, Róisín Ó and Tolü Makay. Magical night.

Open call for artists and musicians to create art and music inspired by #StBrigid for the #Herstory Light Shows on 31st Jan & 1st Feb 2024.

This year’s theme is the Old Irish saying: "There’s room for everyone under Brigid’s cloak.”

In these divisive times, St. Brigid calls us to remember our true humanity, bringing a message of inclusion, harmony, and healing.
