Looks like it's the Dielis pilipes, Hairy-footed Scoliid Wasp!

These bees live in the ground, maybe sorta solitary but in communities? Lots of holes in the dry sandy silt ground where they live. The fly around in patterns around the nests. I thought maybe some sort of cuckoo bee but I'm not sure. They're big, about 25mm long. Some kind of bee, wasp, hornet. More pics in the reply.

A bee like insect on Euonymus alatus flowers. It is light yellow and black striped with grey hairs, dark legs, very long thick antennae, and dark translucent wings. It is about an inch long. It is facing up and to the right, has it's wings held above it's back. The bee facing to the right and the underside of it's abdomen visible. The bee showing it's grey fur on it's thorax. The bee facing to the right and up and towards the camera slightly. It's antennae are probably 12mm long or more.

Some kind of June beetle? It was on European plum blossom. I went back to collect it later but it was gone.

A photo of a small beetle on a plum blossom. It is sort of dark brown and is iridescent. The flower is white. The view of the left side of the beetle. The beetle viewed from the front and seeing it's left side. It's head is sort of blue iridescent looking.

Some native bees on the flowers. Bombus vagans on a cucumber, a tiny and black bee or wasp on the bee balm, some sort of longhorn bee on rudbeckia, and Bombus vagans again on the hyssop.

There are tendrils around the flower looking for something to wrap themselves around.A tiny black bee, or possibly a wasp, on a bee balm flower.A very small bee with very long brown or orange antennae. It is facing towards the camera on top of a rudbeckia flower, the shiny bits that look like eyes are not since it's eyes are on the sides directly below those shiny spots that are 'looking' at you all cute like.Another half-black bumblebee on some anise hyssop flowers.

A tiny wasp on a rudbeckia petal. Maybe some type of square headed wasp. About 10mm long.

A small mostly black wasp with some yellow stripes and marks. It is shiny. It is on a yellow rudbeckia petal. The quality is poor from a 150mm lens with 26mm of macro extenders and a set aperture of 22 shot freehand.

TL:DR; don’t take a fucking video; immobilize the bug; use magnification; light it up; lock focus. Plus, a caveat about ID.

I think this might be the same species as the first pic above (this is a reply). Maybe it's just a leafcutter bee leaving the other one with the big head unknown.

This was on a daylily.

Not sure what these are. sand wasp, weevil wasp, pollen wasp? I thought it was the same insect but I see my first photo was a different one so they pulled a switcheroo.

They were on the baby's breath, Gypsophila paniculata.

Can someone identify this insect? #bugid #entymology

I found this cool grasshopper a few summers ago while stuck on the side of the road in rural West Texas after our rental broke down. #bugid #bugs

A bright yellow-green grasshopper clinging to a blade of grass is illuminated by the flash of a camera. It has neat black markings on its legs

@MixBluets Variegated Meadowhawk fits much better than Violet Dropwing. I'm not sure though. Dragonflies are hard. What I know is that Google is pretty bad at this. I recommend iNaturalist or Seek (which is the same database anyway).

@ancientsounds I can't help but i'd also like to know. love your painting btw

Any #entomologists or #entomology folks can help me pseudo-ID a bug?
I saw it come into the bathroom from under the baseboards, there's a small gap area.
Dark colour, possibly 1cm size, small "but a large small", moved fast. It came in, stopped, and went RIGHT back into the same hole.

Now I'm fearing it's bedbugs but that seems unlikely, I've been in this place a few months now... But what could it have been?? Didn't seem like a cockroach ...
Thanks!
