C9 / Sh 2-155 The Cave Nebula - telescope processed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter and LP Filter. C9 / Sh 2-155, the Cave Nebula, is a beautiful star-forming region in Cepheus. It is an H II emission nebula featuring a dark, curved dust lane resembling a cave mouth.C9 / Sh 2-155 The Cave Nebula - unprocessed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter and LP Filter. The Cave Nebula is an active stellar nursery where radiation from hot, young stars is compressing gas and dust, which triggers new star formation!

Another new observation for me. Here is / -155 .

C 9 / Sh 2-155 The Cave Nebula - telescope processed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. An emission nebula (H II region) in Cepheus, 2,400 light-years away. Nicknamed "The Cave Nebula" (C9) for a dark, hollow cavity sculpted by radiation from hot, young stars.C 9 / Sh 2-155 The Cave Nebula - unprocessed image with Moon and Sky Light Filter. A hot O-type star outside the "cave" is bombarding the gas with radiation, triggering the formation of a brand new generation of stars!

Now only question is how long until it is available, will our countries even approve it, seeing so many have even abandoned the little sentiment about vaccine safety they had (pathetic) & will it be affordable for the average person. #covid #covid19 #C9 #longcovid #vaccines

So I went out to the opening of the #C9 section in #Brentford, #London yesterday with my dog. He was such a hit that everyone asked us to join them in the publicity photos! #BikeTooter

Four white people on bicycles viewed head-on as they ride up the newly-opened Cycleway 9 portion through green and leafy Waterman's Park. From left to right, they are:

Ruth Cadbury, MP for Brentford and Isleworth and chair of the Transport Committe in parliament. She's wearing a mustard-coloured top, a black helmet, and black trousers with a neon yellow bicycle clip on the right ankle. She's riding a red Brompton folding bicycle.

Helen Cansick, from Transport for London, in an all-blue shirt and trousers outfit and a white helmet. She's riding a pale blue Brompton with a bag affixed to the front.

Nick Moffitt, Borough Coordinator for the Ealing Cycling Campaign, wearing a green aloha shirt covered in surfboard designs, a black flat cap, and grey-brown trousers with green Crocs. He's riding a teal Elephant Bike, with his cavapoo (whose colouring matches Nick's ginger-and-white beard) named Kona sitting in the front basket.

Katherine Dunne, councillor for Isleworth ward in Hounslow, in a shirt with beach designs on it, kakhi pedal-pushers, and brown sandals. She's riding a silver hybrid bike of some variety.

Seeing a two people on a tandem, the rear person wearing a hi-viz labelled 'blind cylist' on #C9 this morning has made my day :-)

@velobetty one guy ran into the bike lane ran into the back of me because I'd slowed to a stop to let a pedestrian crossing at a zebra.

I'm sure he thinks I'm a terrible cyclist (shouted at me that I shouldn't have stopped), I think he's a terrible cyclist for not only seeing the pedestrian, but not keeping a safe stopping distance (and/or paying attention).

It's #C9. not the TdF peleton... (I do find more people try to draft behind me in July, until they realise how slow I am...).

@nickyfoofoo I like TSM myself but I also like EG, NRG (formerly CLG), Immortals and Flyquest. Don't forget #C9 and #100thieves. I like the players Blabber and Doublelift from those respective teams.

bikemap.net/en/r/12848197/ ← Did a recce of the route for Sunday's Freecycle feeder ride yesterday. We finally reached the point where the reduced number of horrible junction crossings made using #C9 in single-file more attractive.

Still some trouble at Weltje/Rivercourt and getting into Green Dragon Lane at Kew Bridge, but I'm really happy to finally make use of this link.

I'm using an #LG #C9 OLED TV for streaming with Wi-Fi (2.4 & 5 GHz networks) across multiple repeaters. The TV doesn't support #Fritz!Box's #mesh steering (11k/11v), causing it to connect to distant repeaters.

Besides using LAN, how can I force the TV to connect to a specific repeater without changing Wi-Fi names for each repeater? I want to keep the same SSIDs for both networks on all devices.

I'm willing to bet that the driver who damaged this bike lane sign doesn't think cycle users need segregated lanes, whilst clearly proving that they do... #c9 #Chiswick

London's #Hammersmith & #Fulham Council #LBHF has published a proposed decision today to make permanent the King Street & gyratory "safer cycle pathway" (don't call it #cycleway #C9 #CW9).
Decision papers: democracy.lbhf.gov.uk/ieDecisi

Big increases in numbers of people cycling since interim scheme was installed.

Further work needed to improve safety at some junctions, as drivers are continuing to put people cycling at risk.

#London #Cycling

From linked decision papers:
Cycle volume data
16. TfL analysis of the King Street cycle count data between Goldhawk Road and
Hammersmith Gyratory shows an overall increase in cycle km of 66% when
comparing October-November 2021 and October-November 2022 (Source TfL
Cycleway 9 Scheme Performance Information).
17. TfL have provided data that shows at the Kings Street junction with Bridge
Avenue. The 6am to 10pm two-way cycle volume in 2017 was 1,531 cycles.
This volume increased by 34% to 2,064 cycles in 2021, and increased further in
2022 to 2,804 cycles, an 83% increase. This data supports the growth trend
seen in the 2021-22 cycle km analysis and indicates there has been significant
growth in cycle numbers since the installation of the scheme.
18. Information from TfL indicates that the latest indicative cycling trends from
October 2022 from their sample of continuous automatic counters shows weekly
demand at some 140 per cent of the pre-pandemic baseline, with Santander
Cycles hires at some 111 per cent of the pre-pandemic level as of late
September 2022. Thus maintaining the pattern seen during the pandemic of
significant increases compared to pre-pandemic levels of cycling in London.
2023-02-25

Over the past two weeks, cycles using King St in Hammersmith have outnumbered cars during daylight hours! Now, the counter can't distinguish between pedal bikes and mopeds so some of these won't be cycle lane records, but nevertheless - wow! 🤩🚲📈
