Cabañas o Cabins en inglés, es un libro ilustrado y con fotografías en torno a este tipo de viviendas.

Hace mucho que vi anunciada la publicación de este libro sobre Cabañas, Cabins en inglés, y hoy me he acordado que lo tengo pendiente aún de comentar y por supuesto pendiente de tal vez comprarlo algún día. Luego, veo el precio y me olvido de que lo quiero hasta que repaso las imágenes que hay compartidas en la web de Taschen por ejemplo y claro …

… vuelta a empezar con querer comprarlo.

El libro contiene una muestra de proyectos en todo el mundo (incluye un mapa para localizarlos fácilmente). Además, incluye representaciones gráficas del exterior y del interior de las cabañas. Y fotos con las ideas más interesantes de cada uno de los proyectos. Resulta curioso como mezcla dibujos muy «vintage» de la autora Marie-Laure Cruschi con las fotos y textos de Philip Jodidio. Por cierto, este apellido daría para muchos chistes en España. No sé si estarán las cabañas de Form & Forest pero por las imágenes veo alguno de los proyectos que se han comentado en el blog tienen dedicada su ficha con dibujos y fotos.

Cabins es un libro de arquitectura que presenta una selección de cabañas de todo el mundo, desde las tradicionales hasta las más contemporáneas. El libro comienza con una introducción sobre el encanto de estas construcciones y su relación con la naturaleza y el aislamiento. A continuación, se presentan varios proyectos, cada uno con una descripción detallada de las características arquitectónicas y fotografías a todo color. Los proyectos incluyen modelos tradicionales de madera, otros de lujo con vistas impresionantes, algunas de diseño moderno y otras de estilo minimalista. El libro también incluye una sección de proyectos autoconstruidos y una sección de consejos para aquellos interesados en construir su propia cabaña. En general, Cabins es una excelente fuente de inspiración para aquellos interesados en la arquitectura de cabañas y la vida en la naturaleza.
