personally, I would never give an outsider control of my PC, unless it was super duper important. i'm pretty good on the technical side, so if I really needed something done, most of the time, I could do it myself. so luckily I wil almost never use Microsoft's DAD (why the fuck did they name it that) but hey, there may be a time. though i've never had to resort to it.
also this document probably doesn't realize that the user is probably nieve, so will probably just believe the agent. "is this gonna delete or damage my files" agent: "yah dog, we're safe, everything's gonna go to plan".
then I can prosede to damage shit.
remember, you're not in control the minute you give Microsoft access, unless you have
- you have backed up your data on a separate drive, like a USB or a system restore point, and
- you are actively viewing system logs and can immediately remediate any damage in a matter of seconds
it's no better than if you're giving a scammer remote access to your PC.
of course, if you're going to do this, I highly recommend giving
non privileged access first, so that you have to give administrative access via that user and only give administrative access when is needed, and can view the information of what they are trying to do, and maybe use group policy editor to set system level policies. #tech #blind #commonsense
