The parts showed up! I'm very pleased so far, the parts fit together while still having tolerances between the tabs so they don't need to be pressed into place with force.

They will now spend the next week in the vaccum chamber degassing.

I got the design for the wood frame done. It does have slightly less internal volume due to the walls being 4mm thick, but that's a structural necessity. The frame will be held under compression when assembled with 4 rods. And 8 brackets on the corners, minimal metal.

Software Defined Radio (SDR) dongles, with low costs, have revolutionized satellite signal interception, putting capabilities once reserved for intelligence agencies into hobbyist hands. With tools like GNU Radio and GQRX, anyone can decode unencrypted satellite transmissions including weather data, pager messages, aircraft communications, and even images from NOAA weather satellites. The RTL-SDR community has documented thousands of interesting signals, from Soviet-era satellites still transmitting decades after their missions ended to modern CubeSats broadcasting telemetry data.
The real eye-opener is how much supposedly "secure" satellite communication remains unencrypted or uses weak encryption schemes that can be cracked with modest computing power. Amateur radio operators regularly decode military satellite transmissions, shipping logistics, and even some government communications that were never intended for public consumption.
