@DrPetz ich hatte es jetzt auch über zwei Jahre als #DailyDriver, ich glaube da ist man schon sehr daran gewöhnt. Schon allein, dass andere Distros nicht #apt nutzen ist mir ein Graus!

Until today I haven't used #xfce DE before, as I was attracted by KDE, and I also use (in a very loose term) Cinnamon, as #linuxmint is my #dailydriver .
But as my installation of #fedora42 went wrong somehow and I don't have much time to investigate, I've decided to try some #LightweightLinux on my laptop.
#manjaro with XFCE, so far, it's not bad, a bit different from Mint, sure. But I hope the usefulness of the old machine will increase.

I have a new #dailydriver #phone. In the spirit of getting away from fascists supporting big-tech I bought a used phone and put #lineageos on it. It's great! I still miss #postmarketos but for a daily, the other one currently works better. A lot better than the #iphone I had to fall back on.

I do still have another phone for development for postmarketos so no worries. I'm still committed.

To my great good fortune, Jesper at T.E. was kind enough to send this case to me as a gift. My 13yo son then assembled the machine (after weighing in with strong opinions about each component). Both gifts make me feel very fortunate.

• Fir #eMail & #Chat, I can recommend @monocles as a paid provider who doesn't run #ads and doesn't fall under Cloud Act or similar laws. (Also they have excellent #Apps that work with basically all providers usibg standard-compliant servers & APIs!)

• You may want to consider #Torifying everything by using @guardianproject #Orbot and push everything on #mobile through @torproject / #Tor.

• In fact, some providers like cock.li even have #OnionServices to directly connect to them.

• #MicrosoftOutlook literally steals your Login #credentials, so using @thunderbird is a necessity anyway. Don't forget to change your logins either way!

• #Firefox is okay, but #TorBrowser should be normalized as well.

• Consider launching a @cryptoparty to teach other the same.

• Nirmalize using @tails_live / @tails / #Tails as your #DailyDriver!

After installing #OpenBSD on my #FrameworkLaptop everything on #xfce was so small because of the HiDPI screen. After changing some settings it is not perfect, but much better.
