With my latest hardware upgrade to 27" 4K TFTs, it's almost impossible for me to use the new TFTs. Everything is tiny small. X11 doesn't have the advanced scaling options I've got with KDE on Wayland.

Well, let's see if I can do it this weekend ...

I'm trying out #Budgie for the first time in years, because #Cinnamon made a dramatic impression on me.

I mean, it works. It's got everything you need, it's design is tight, and it looks… fine. I'm gonna dig into the settings a bit, but I don't think this is for me.

The feel is very Windows XP but not hideous, which is great if that's what you're into. The default fonts are a bit small for me on my laptop, but that's prolly adjustable. Very clean lines, and I like the launcher menu.

But I feel like there's not much here I can't do with #XFCE with a lower ram overhead, and I kinda want an Overview or similar.

So, I was installing Movim (https://movim.eu/ - I was interested in chats, I plan to replace Slack in our office, and my home server was a test ground) and reading RFCs about XMPP. And this is how my Friday went.

First, I updated the system. It was a lot of things, but it didn’t break anything because everything was in the docker containers. That was the case until now. Call me impractical (especially with rolling releases on Manjaro (it’s basically Arch but I so so so like their XFCE theme, and I couldn’t reproduce it on vanilla Arch)) but I like bare metal installations.

Finally I was able to make the Candy Icons theme work properly.

I had to:

- Move the candy-icons-master folder from ~/.icons to /usr/share/icons/
- Install breeze icons theme

No more missing icons!!

Dúvidas sobre importação e exportação de dados em programa de áudio

Alguém aqui usa o #Rhythmbox, o reprodutor de música, rádio em linha e podcasts nativo do #XFCE?

Não sabia dessas funções do software, e só isso mata a necessidade de um programa extra para podcasts e outro para rádio (o que eu fazia até então).

O problema é: o Rhythmbox não fornece opções nem de importação de feed OPML/XML (para podcasts) e nem dá a opção de exportar essas informações... ao menos nativamente.

Alguém que curta esse programa sabe algum truque para esses procedimentos?

I still cannot find a way to install #debian and be able to select a different #windowmanager .
I know, its stupid, maybe I select the wrong #ISO , but nowhere I can select #LXQt or #Xfce
The #netinst should be the one, right?

By the way, which #windowmanager would you recommend for 8 years old computer schools used by students who never used #linux ?
