Soprano Megan Marie Hart as Donna Anna, bass Zelotes Edmund Toliver as her father the Commendatore, and tenor David Lee as her fiancé Don Ottavio during Donna Anna's aria "Non mi dir" from Act II of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera Don Giovanni at Staatstheater Darmstadt in the 2022/2023 season. A woman wearing a red silk petticoat dress with 3/4 sleeves is standing in the center of a dark stage (Hart). She sings with her mouth wide open. Behind her is a very long dining table with twelve men sitting at it with their backs to her, lit by 3 large crystal chandeliers hanging overhead. One of the men (Toliver) is dressed in a dark coat, the other eleven have bare torsos and a black cross and the name of an apostle painted on their bare backs. Behind the table is a man wearing a gray coat, white shirt and black tie (Lee). Photo: Nils Heck/Staatstheater Darmstadt

TURANDOT
Had the pleasure to hear Megan Marie Hart’s Liù for a while now, and tonight I will finally get it all in context.

With Soojin Moon as Turandot, Aldo di Toro as Calaf, Johannes Seokhoon Moon as Timur, Julian Orlishausen, David Lee and Michael Pegher as Ping, Pang and Pong, under the Baton of Johannes Zahn.

The name of Giacomo Puccini’s opera “Turandot” written in white capital letters on a dark background with the colors of the sunrise visible through a mesh. The typeface design is based on the original poster by Leopoldo Metlicovitz (1868-1944) from 1926. Illustration: Stefan Romero Grieser – @operaimmagine

Q11: Who is your favorite person?

Q12: What is the most important thing in any relationship?

Thank you for your responses, David!

Had seen David's work shared, where his colors and compositions really stood out to me, most of which shared on Instagram are shot between Philadelphia and New York City. But in addition to this and really works in his photos is his layering where on more planes than one there is action. His response to question 12 is a good example (3,6,7,8,10 haha) with a young couple kissing in the foreground, a statue of an oldman in the mid, and a slightly older couple walking away in the background exemplifies this with an added suggested symbolism…really great work check out his Instagram:
