Quite some privacy experts from academia and other professionals out there calling upon the European institutions to safeguard the #EDPS independence.
Politely not naming Gencarelli directly, they refer to a potential conflict of interest in the role when appointing someone who has spent 12 years working in managerial roles at the European Commission.
It is still open how the negotiations between EP and Council on future of EDPS end.
