Looking for a good solution to offer my Nextcloud users that wish to open and work on note than one Writer doc at a time?
Running Nextcloud 31 with the latest Collabora (not the built in). On Ubuntu Server 22.04.
Files are opened from Nextcloud Files App but once one is open there seems no way to open another from the Collabora Writer page?
You can only close the one that's open to return to Files app and pick another.
Any insights anyone?
@edzob Self-hosted, using Docker on a pi4. I've spun up #NextCloud, #Collabora and #ElasticSearch in #Docker, running behind #Traefik. I'm currently looking at SSO options like Authelia and Authentik, as I have a few other services I'd like to expose (a few Nginx sites, either Gitlab or Forgejo, Immich, etc)

Schau dir auch mal #Cryptpad und Etherpad an.
Mit beiden lassen sich Texte gemeinsam erstellen und bearbeiten. Vom Funktionsumfang nicht so mächtig wie LibreOffice (das hier erwähnte #Collabora ist LibreOffice mit Kollaborationsfunktion),
dafür deutlich leichtgewichtiger in Installation und Betrieb bzw. günstiger als full managed service zu mieten.

Toller Artikel über die Abhängigkeiten von wenigen großen Softwareanbietern, die daraus resultierenden Gefahren und wie sich Schleswig-Holstein daraus befreit.
Die Beamten verfassen ihre Vermerke künftig mit dem Writer von Libre Office, schreiben ihre E-Mails über Thunderbird, tauschen Dokumente über Nextcloud aus. Und eines Tages soll statt Windows eine Version des Betriebssystems Linux zum Einsatz kommen.
Ich freue mich, dass wir mit Nextcloud diesen Weg in einer engen Partnerschaft begleiten dürfen!

Wenn man mit Docker #OpenCloud als AIO installiert, hat man auch direkt #Collabora usw. installiert. Eine recht ordentliche Lösung, gefällt mir jetzt schon besser als #Nextcloud. Ein paar Bilder, wie das aussieht.
Was aber noch dringend fehlt ist eine Kalender und Kontakte App.

So in between academic writing I've been installing nextcloud on LAMP stack shared hosting. Everything works but I can't get the built in Collabora server to work. It works with the demo remote servers so it might be blocked by the host (they sell nextcloud as saas) or could be my VPN. It times out, and doesn't give a wopi error in the logs so I'm going to try a localhost version to see if that works. Stumped atm. Interesting though, so we'll see.

Da ich suche um selbst zu nutzen und Anderen weiter zu empfehlen, interessieren mich besonders die Aspekte:
-Zuverlässigkeit
- backups
- Nutzungs-Erfahrungen
- onlyoffice/collabora-office inklusive ja/nein
Bei Hetzner zum Beispiel sieht es sonst ganz ok aus, nur collabora ist prinzipiell nicht inklusive und onlyoffice ist laut Hetzner "aktuell" nicht unterstützt wegen "Kompatibilitätsproblemen" (seit 2019). Deswegen überlege ich, von hetzner weg zu wechseln.

On l'utilise.
Je l'ai mis en container #docker ca tourne super bien.
L'application est très populaire au sein de la collectivité.
L'ajout de modules comme le "deck" ont renforcé sa popularité 😀 Dans la direction, on l'utilise pour le suivi des commandes avec le service "Administratif".
L'ajout de #Collabora est un vrai plus pour les agents sur le terrain car ils ont un outil bureautique accessible pour faire des modifications en direct 😉
