Suddenly, women started going missing after the cases she worked as a private investigator, trying to help them. She had no idea this was happening, had already moved on to different areas, and she helped other women with philandering and cheating spouses. (Some of them she killed, yes, because they were irredeemable.) Who was following her, though? Someone was obsessed with her.

Yes, she has. Hati worked at another pub, but the owner was treating her badly. She quit, walked away, and (in a boss bitch move) went to work for his biggest competitor. The man is kind and treats her well. She’s genuinely valued now as an employee, which is also a marvel when we consider the fact that this is the Victorian era. Women were very rarely EVER valued under any circumstance.

#TodayILearned something I wouldn't have if I watched shows with closed captioning off. In the final episode of the the first season of #GhostsAU, Kate, the woman who can see ghosts, has pre-European ancestry.

Her boyfriend, Sean, has been dithering about proposing since Kate found the ring he'd hidden.¹ So Kate tells the ghosts “Well, just so you know, I'm going to propose.”

The ghosts don't want her to do that, so, babbling, they say “You can't do that! Yeah, you can't because of the patriarchy…”

To which Kate replies, “Well, I'm Blak and we're a matriarchy, so who's coming?”

Some research shows that #Blak is an accepted spelling for the original inhabitants of Australia. #TIL #Ghosts

[1] Actually, Sean did propose when Kate found the ring, but it was rushed and unromantic, so she told him to do it again, but to “make it super soppy, super cringe” and it's the do-over proposal that's been taking time. Sean had arranged a whole song and dance with the ghosts, which Kate proposing would make impossible.

While we know what Fenella has done, because I talked about it last night, Alistair is a different story. Something that would push him to commit a “mortal” crime is an interesting idea and it’s probably someone hurting one of his servants, all of whom he’s close friends with. A crime in the eyes of immortals and breaking “vampiric” law, however, is something that he’s already done. Vampires aren’t allowed to be friends with werewolves, and he is. He’s close with not one but two werewolves, and nothing will ever change that for him.
