Made this unhinged Mad Hatter as a birthday present. Initially, the request was Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka, so I used that design for inspo. In the process, I realized that Ever After High’s Mad Hatter looks suspiciously like Willy Wonka. Coincidence, I’m sure 😂

A typical "hatter" hut in the bush. Ross Gold Fields of yesteryear. Again, DOC have earnt their funding by building tracks and bridges into an historic area left abandoned long ago.
No one is sure why they were called hatters. One theory was the inhabitant bathed with his hat on.

More birthday prep-

I decided to make myself a fancy hat! Inspired by the "boater" hats of the 1920s, the design is simple and made of just 3 circles- with one of them bent to the profile of my head.

I bent it almost entirely out of scraps- even using some donated electrodes and side tubulating it- just like they would have done in the 1920s.

Hey, I am using mercury in the production of this hat just like those mad hatters. Although I am using only one drop- dispensed with a hemetrically sealed glass and teflon injector :).

I underfilled it to just 5 torr (instead of the usual 9) so there will be less resistance and longer battery life- with the tradeoff of shorter tube life- I dont need this to last 75 years anyways :)

I might add "B-DAY" to the front if I have time.

There I was yesterday (this is a true story), installing Manjaro :manjaro: on a Windows only computer. Had to turn off the #laptop, as my siblings had prepared a home made scone cream and compote tea for three 0 clock. I was to be part of this #birthday treat with #bone china #rose patterned teacups.

Oh boy! I laid back and thought of #England!

Meanwhile people made of sterner and more #empowering #mad #hatter #persuasion are using their breed of torture to:
