Second day of my quick overnight was a bit more time on the ridge until I was, well, done with the ridge, then down into the larger South Fork of Timber Creek.

Yellow light bursting over dark mountains reflect from a body of water in a dark valley. The sky shades to blue toward the top. There are some clouds, mostly down near the peaks.

A wide, flat, rocky ridge top dominates the foreground covered only with a little dried grasses. The ridge continues, rocky, off to the left to a rise, then along many small rises to the right and a second, pointy, rise, then flatter on further to the right and distance. Thin lines of snow are seen dropping down the more sheltered faces of this above tree line ridge. A little of the valley is seen to the right, with lots of green trees in the bottom.

Rocky ridge on the right, extending far into the distance with a gentle rolling, drops quickly to a valley below it, the rises again to a shorter ridge. The bottom of the valley is covered in green spruces that climb in a couple thin lines toward the top.

In the bottom of a valley with spruce popping up among bare aspens along the right and a steep slope going up the right. A line of similar trees grows up the side of a hill.

A 2nd visit to the High Schells Wilderness, this one to the high point, the highest Schell. I made it a quick overnight trip, finding a tiny flat spot high on the ridge and out of the wind (at least for the evening) to spend the night.

A valley of dried grass with rocky walls climbing to bare tops. Lines and groups of leafless aspen and bright green spruce occupy the lower hillsides.

A long V shaped valley, largely bare rocks on the left and with a thin covering of evergreen trees on the right and a patch of snow on the far end.

Bare ridge winding north with rocks of white and light yellow. Spots of green do grow in some places.

Bare ridge line winding and rising to a point before winding a bit more. Some snow is on the surfaces on the left. The slopes drop in a steep line to green in the bottom of the valley before rising faster to another ridge, bare with a little snow on sheltered faces.

When the light is just right, the aspens really pop!

I've finally got all the trails I think I can get onto the OSM map for the High Schells Wilderness, so I am getting to the writing of the quick overnight within it.
