Is there a way to interact with MIELE equipment without login into their cloud-system?

I've been manually turning off my electric hot water system and enabling it in the middle of the day to capitalize on the free #Solar power.
So far the stats are super promising payback. In 5 days it's saved 16kWh and around ~$4.50!
Now just to find an automatic way to do it with a WiFi controlled relay.
Some irritation with the AI llama3.1 LLM that I'm using in house with respect to home automation and #HomeAssitant. Most specifically it seems to be having trouble understanding that if I ask what the outside temperature is, I'm fully aware that it doesn't get a realtime temperature, however both the neighbor's 433 mhz weather station, and the National Weather Service's weather station at the nearby airport (close enough I can't fly a drone here) most recent reports are acceptable. Yet the AI\
I have a Node RED flow in my Home Assistant to restart my shitty modem when it hangs and there's no Internet.
Today the Node RED it self crashed and failed to restart and when the modem hanged I had to ask my someone to restart the modem manually.
Now I have to figure out a way to restart the service which is supposed to restart my modem.
Hab mir einen presencmelder gekauft. Sonoff snzb 06p. In #homeassistant mühelos eingebunden.

@MrMozz I have no experience of my own, but researched a bit about this: #jellyfin seems to work well with #musicassistant of the #HomeAssitant team to get multiroom audiostreaming going with pis and the new hifi HomeAssistent voice device.
I need advice on a sensor. I have 4 lamps on the length of my house. I want them to turn on as you walk along the house. I might need multiple sensors. I'm not sure a PIR sensor is the right solution. Does anyone have a recommendation for an outdoor sensor that would do the job. #HomeAssitant #homeautomation

The smoke detectors in our house are extremely close to the end of their service life, and I’d really like smart detectors. I live in an older home and the existing detectors are battery powered and not hardwired.
It appears there hasn’t been any innovation in that space in the last ten years. Nest Protect was trash to begin with, and has somehow become worse in the intervening years while also somehow maintaining its status as cream of the crap.
It seems like my best option is getting detectors that work with my Elk M1 alarm system, and bringing them to Home Assistant and HomeKit through that integration?
Achkrass...wie gut #homeassitant läuft. Quasi out of the box.
@leah @homeassistant I use HA only in a VM (Proxmox) with the HA OS. I think that’s the best and safest way to keep it updated and clean. I need for my home a stable solution. So I use the rest api and webhooks on other clean Debian vms to deploy what ever be needed to HA.

@GreyLinux @homeassistant I backup from the #HomeAssitant Raspberry Pi to my desktop PC's disk. From where it gets backed up to the cloud with all the other data on the PC which I'm doing anyway, no separate cloud account needed just for #HomeAssistant. And all encrypted anyway, so no separate encryption system needed just for #HomeAssistant (I hope the new encryption feature can be turned off so that I don't have yet another key/password to manage or lose!)
Which all works fine ... except when I'm away from home and have taken the desktop with me (yes, weird, eh?) and I'm not exposing the Samba share over the internet.
#kutil
