–sn–

Hey look! It's #TropicalStorm #Sepat, tropical cyclone №.2 in the Western North Pacific this year.

• It is expected to skirt the east coast of #Honshu, #Japan, by late Wednesday night and Thursday morning, before steering back out to sea.
• It is not expected to strengthen beyond #TropicalStorm intensity.
• The name Sepat is the Malay word for a genus of fish in the gurami family.

JTWC forecast map for Tropical Storm Sepat as of Monday June 23, 2025 at 00:00 UTC. It is expected to weaken as it approaches the east coast of Honshu, Japan, by Wednesday night and Thursday morning, before steering back out to sea as a tropical depression. Gale force winds may impact southeastern outlying islands of Japan, but not the main island of Honshu.
