Masking. Executive dysfunction. “Style over substance” hiring. Neurodivergent professionals often navigate systems that weren’t built for them — and miss out on the chance to lead, contribute, and thrive. Your team can be better because of those differences.

🌟 This week, we had a great time meeting people at the Brimbank Disability, Seniors & Carers Expo! Many people were surprised to learn that we are not part of the Council. We are a small, independent group run by volunteers. We do not get any money from the government, and some of our members even use their own pensions to keep our group going! 💙

We’re committed to staying independent and working toward incorporation, so that we can apply for grants and get more support for our disability community. If you want to help, please contact us! 🙌

A special thanks to Jo Briskey MP, David Ettershank MP (and his office manager David P), Mayor Cr Thuy Dang, and Councillors Virginia Tachos and Kim Thien Truong, for taking the time to meet with us. And huge thanks to our dedicated members Jo and Lorraine, for their hard work preparing for and at the event! 👏

💻 Please like our page to follow what we do (facebook.com/brimbankdisability).
If you want to become a member, head to facebook.com/groups/brimbankdisability or email us at brimbankdisability@gmail.com.
Links also in bio.

Together, we can do great things! 💪💙

Now to sit back and await the accusations and abuse.

Yes, yes. I know - don’t comment (especially not opinion pieces).

But at least then I know someone *is* taking notice & helps prove that maybe I’m not an inconsequential & invisible umbrae.

This IDAHOBIT, we should remember one simple thing. We have progressed quite a bit, despite how it may seem. While it's not time to slow down yet, we are stronger day by day.

Even in the darkest moments, we must remember that we would always exist, we would always be there for each other, we would never stop existing.

Every student deserves to feel known, heard, and valued.

True inclusion means more than open doors—it means open minds, shared power, and space for every story.

Let’s co-create classrooms where difference isn’t just accepted, but expected and respected.

What’s one way your school uplifts quieter voices?
