@fullrange agree (if “technically withdrawn” includes planting some trees). And scenarios can help the policy discussion by quantifying when, how and where to remove the carbon from the atmosphere!

Screenshot of the vacancy announcement for an Integrated Assessment Modeler

The Integrated Assessment and Climate Change (IACC) Research Group within the Energy, Climate, and Environment (ECE) Program at IIASA seeks a strong candidate to help develop and extend the current global modeling framework used within the group. The successful candidate will work with a team of international scientists who also develop and use the framework to perform state-of-the-art scenario modeling and assessment.

One headache in modeling & scenario analysis are inconsistent country names across different data sources.
So we developed an open-source package to harmonize names in the & communities...

The country names are based on ISO3166-1 standards, and the package has a few utility features to streamline modeling & analysis.

@anlomedad_real I agree with much of the criticism in the Boell study in principle, but let me add two clarifications:
1. There are two types of models of : cost-benefit models like and process-based models like & - see this explainer carbonbrief.org/qa-how-integra. Only the latter are used for analysis like the scenario assessment.

Just presented at this year's meeting of the #IntegratedAssessment Modelling Consortium #IAMC, on possible production pathways for #hydrogen and associated emissions: there's low-carbon and then there's *low*-carbon, and we should be mindful about carbon infrastructure lock-in and technology learning.
