They will now utilize, process, tag, and judge everything you post to feed their AI models or sell it back to someone else's models.
It will only get *worse* from now.
You have no control whatsoever on what will be done with this AI-compiled profile of you later on.
The only solution to stay safe from their insatiable greed is to leave and delete,
before they eat you whole.

Started using #Slack daily again for work. Fortunately it's still exceptionally accessible, I'd say the best #Electron-powered app in matter of #Accessibility, along with #VSCode.

Yes! A few years ago, my employer decided we would all use #Slack. I thought it was fine for instant communications, but I suspected people would stop using #email. Although slower, email is great as a more permanent, searchable communications archive. It has worked out as I suspected and everybody has difficulty finding the conversations they had with colleagues. I still have an archive of email from 30 years ago.

I am a #laptop person. Every couple of years I try to get a desktop machine, but it never feels right. Same with attaching monitors to the laptop. Too much hassle, and too much switching back and forth when moving around. With a good MacBook, everything is always right there and always works.
But I set up an external monitor for #PairProgramming now, so that I can watch the shared screen and also look at other windows. And it helps a lot with #Slack, too, whose window management is very clumsy.

From the blog post[1], simplified layout mode "helps you focus by showing one section of Slack at a time," and "minimizes distractions which may benefit single-taskers and people using assistive technology."
This was originally built to "make Slack easier to use for #eyeTracking and #headMouse users," but has since been determined to also benefit "other switch users as well as: #screenReader users (by reducing the amount of stuff on screen at once), #neurodivergent people who find Slack overwhelming or distracting, and even people with limited screen real estate."[2]

Wow, that was a great support experience. I can confirm the positive things that @caseyliss mentioned about Slack support on @atpfm the other day: They acknowledged the issue within 2 hours. Coming back to work today, the issue was fixed! #Slack
