Une bonne lecture qui vaut définitivement les hommages qui lui sont rendus pour ce court roman écrit en 1972. Ça s'inscrit très bien dans la science-fiction féministe des années '70 et je m'étonne de ne pas avoir vu le nom de Levin plus souvent dans mes recherches sur le sujet (ou je n'ai pas fait attention ne le connaissant pas, sauf à travers son roman Rosemary’s Baby que je n'ai pas lu non plus, c'est définitivement sur ma liste maintenant).

These were some of the first adult horror books I ever read besides Stephen King, because my mother had this set of hardcovers. She let me have it when I moved out. They're so different from the books she read(s)- I don't think she ever even read these- but I'm glad the universe sought fit to bring them into my life.
(I got the paperback of STEPFORD WIVES a couple years ago because I adore the cover.)
This is a cracking thriller that the world needs to read and learn from. Now. Written in 1970s it's unfortunately still topical and relevant. Crackingly dialogue, believable premise, ramps up nicely. A thriller with something to say.

I've read and reread "This Perfect Day" at least 5 times.
It's an underrated piece of work that rivals Orwell's and Huxley's dystopian Sci-Fi novels.
Yet.., a film was never made for this book.
Ira Levin of course, did have "Rosemary's Baby", "The Boys From Brazil" and "The Stepford Wives" all made for film...
But sadly, not "This Perfect Day".
If Hollywood can get the rights to this book, I suggest they make a film from it!
