Mistigram: if the cracked presentation of this #ANSIart screen is puzzling, that’s because it’s repurposed art — you’re going to see permutations of this Viking longboat a few more times before the year is up. But today, AdeptApril uses it to celebrate #Puzzle day for the users of Storm BBS!

I've been wearing my 🟩 answering @NCCM's #GreenSquareCampaign🟩

Last year,

Because if there is No Record, there is No History,

I compiled this Photographic Essay documenting the day:

The Magonista rebellion began #OTD in 1911. Led from Los Angeles by anarchists Ricardo and Enrique Magón, a band of about 30 rebels took over Mexicali, Mexico, without resistance, emptying the jail and taking government funds. A small library and some anarchist communes were set up during the 6 months that the rebels campaigned in the region.

Today's art is from this article:
piedepagina.mx/magonista-es-un

#history #rebellion #Magon #Mexico #anarchism #ToWeRi #Jan29

A painting showing Magón, wearing an early 1900s suit, holding a staff in the air and pointing at a scroll on the ground in front of him. He is surrounded by townspeople, including one who is a half skeleton, and there are mountains and a blue sky with clouds in the background. A thin plant with white flowers frames the left side, and a bowl with corn cobs is at the bottom left.

Today marks the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and Action against Islamophobia and the sixth anniversary of the attack on Januaary 29th, 2017, that took the lives of six worshippers.

As we reflect on the fight against Islamophobia and hate, we start with remembering our brothers’ names,

Some who perished while trying to stop the gunman from claiming more lives.

Let us remember that we have made great strides in our journey towards a Canada without hate,

But we have much more to do.

Let us remember that Islamophobia, when allowed to fester, poses a danger to the fabric of this country.

Let's commit to the road ahead towards a Canada without Islamophobia and hate.
