Photos from a walk at #Jerrabomberra Wetlands, Canberra this afternoon (moody skies, a #Rakali, a #LittleGrassbird and an eclipse #SuperbFairywren).

There was also a #SpotlessCrake but it wasn't accommodating for photos.

Some photos from late yesterday afternoon at #Jerrabomberra Wetlands (#Canberra).

Buff-banded Rail this evening at #Jerrabomberra Wetlands in #Canberra - in the same place as the Spotless Crake a couple of weeks ago.

I tried to photograph a very active Grey #Fantail at #Jerrabomberra yesterday evening. Only one shot was in focus, but I like how it showcases their boundless energy.

Small grey bird, with white throat and patches above and behind the eye. The underside is a buffish cream. Even though both feet seem to be gripping a branch, the wings are open and flapping and the fan-shaped tail is spread. It's facing two-thirds away to the right and looks like a tiny grey peacock in mid display.

An Eastern Long-necked #Turtle (Chelodina longicollis) was crossing the footpath at #Jerrabomberra Wetlands here in #Canberra yesterday and immediately retreated into its shell when it saw us.

One eye was monitoring carefully to see if we were still there.

Freshwater turtle on a path. The view is from low in front of the turtle. It has drawn its long neck in, with the main loop to its right. A yellow eye can be seen watching under the edge of the shell, which is covered in a film of green algae.

Really nice walk around #Jerrabomberra Wetlands in #Canberra this evening. A #SpotlessCrake was showing well (just my second encounter) and there were two #Rakali (native water rats) in one of the channels. I've also included pictures of #AustralianPelicans and an #AustralasianDarter.

Went for a walk. There were some birds. Including a peewee who wasn’t impressed with a whistling kite.
