So, #KansasFest - an event for #AppleII nerds traditionally held in the KS side of Kansas City* - is being held in Springfield, IL this year
Given their "let's all catch COVID ... together" status last year, Illfest was right there, just saying ...
*Kansas City is mostly in Missouri, and I've met some KCKS folks who are *really* weird about that
Haha! #KansasFest is going to happen in Illinois this year, partly because "Missouri state laws are not inclusive towards LGBTQ+ individuals. We strive to enable all Apple II fans to feel welcome and safe."
Also they have a pretty good COVID policy this year.
Of course, all the "apolitical" guys on the Apple II Facebook group are all bothered about that and threaten to not come. Which is, in my opinion, a win-win situation!

This weekend at #kansasfest we released our first demoscene production for the Apple II called Overboard. The intro consist of 3 layers of diagonal moving chessboard planes complete with color blending, as well as a brand new sort of graphics mode that is also suitable for small sized productions. Enjoy!
