I think 2 years ago I've posted this rough idea as a solution for the draughts in Catalunia, asking if anybody knows an ingeneer etc and to pass the idea on. Maybe it worked!

I've made some improvements on the EU checklist page where you can check from which country the services you use are.
It'll be improved during the next weeks (clickable links to substitutes etc) but this is allready a good start. 😊
Lokjo is a european substitute for googlemaps.
No cookies, no data, no nothing.
When you search locations by category (clothing shop, coffee bar, museum etc) it shows all locations at once. Except for corporations and chains, they get a grey dot.

Lokjo is not build with proprietary code. (like some people for some reason desperately want to make it look like)
And no, it's not officially 'open-source' either, it's 'made with' open source. Attributed of course.
It's a website-with-a-map to support local shops. There's no reason for it to be open source.

From what I’ve been able to see, #Lokjo is not currently #FreedomRespecting / #Libre / #FreeSoftware (a.k.a. “ #OpenSource “/“ #FOSS “). I consider #SoftwareFreedom to be a vital sign of the longevity and trustworthiness of any software.
Could you please say why Lokjo is restricted software?

'How to use Lokjo' for dummies
1 - go to the area you would like to search
2 - type the thing you need (pizza, clothingshop, museum, flowers etc)
3 - click on the top result with the magnifying glass...
..and voilá. A map showing all searched locations in front of your lovely eyeballs.
If you support European non-corporate shops you could totally share this. I mean you don't háve to, but you could. *wink wink*

If you like to keep settings for Lokjo (language,viewpoint etc) you can just bookmark the URL, so even after clearing the cache it starts with the same settings again. 😊
