The writer of the Tony award-nominated Slave Play remains in custody after authorities say they found MDMA in his bag
American actor and playwright Jeremy O Harris, known for the Tony-nominated Slave Play, was arrested last month at an airport in Japan on suspicion of attempting to smuggle illegal drugs into the country, local authorities said late on Thursday.
Harris, 36, was stopped on 16 November at Naha airport on Okinawa island after a customs officer discovered 0.78 grams of crystal containing the synthetic drug MDMA in his tote bag, an Okinawa regional customs spokesperson said.
(. . .)
Japan maintains strict drug laws with severe penalties for possession and smuggling offences. The country has some of the toughest narcotics regulations among developed nations, with even small amounts of illegal substances resulting in criminal prosecution. Punishments, however, are not as harsh as in other Asian countries such as China and Singapore, where drug offenders can face the death penalty."

The #MMDA, and the everywhere in the government of the #Philippines needs to invest in high pressure water/air cleaning for these barriers (look at the photo below) and any government owned assets (like the walls of train stations and so on).
They all look very ugly and dirty.

Manila candidates want more roads, parking space to solve city’s traffic problem
"The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is taking a leading role in the new fight to approve MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD after the Food and Drugs Administration refused to green-light the treatment earlier this year, raising issues and requesting new data.
The VA is well aware of the urgent need for fresh mental health treatments, especially for veterans. The department has come under fire in the past for dragging its feet—particularly when it comes to access to medicinal cannabis. In 2021, an average of 18 former service members died by suicide each day—over 70 percent higher than the national rate, according to a recent Government Accountability Office report. Some estimates, however, suggest that number could be as high as 40 per day.
Now, action appears to be a priority within the VA, and it recently announced that it would fund a study to investigate the efficacy of MDMA-assisted therapy for veterans with PTSD and alcohol-use disorder – the first trial for psychedelic research the agency has bankrolled since the 1960s."
Before the rehabilitation period (which starts Dec 2024), a temporary bridge will be constructed to accommodate the #MMDA’s estimated 141,000 motorists who traverse the bridge every day.
Motorists are advised to anticipate longer travel times once the construction of the temporary bridge starts, especially during peak hours.

Infuriating! But what can you expect from an agency that similarly constructed a regular pedestrian walkway across Edsa just a few years ago that was equally challenging, as it zigged and zagged over the MRT? The #MMDA was already jeered on social media for it, so one would think its executives would take a more circumspect approach to similar projects in its future. We were wrong.
