Normalmente en la cimentación se coloca la piedra ya que es más pesada, y sobre ella la parte de ladrillo. Sin embargo la iglesia de Palacios Rubios (Ávila) es una excepción, ya que se añadió un tramo de mampostería y unas almenas para usar el ábside a modo de torre militar.

Una de las primeras muestras del románico-mudejar español lo encontramos en Santervás de Campos (Valladolid). Tres ábsides aparentemente simétricos, pero todos diferentes, siendo el central de piedra y los laterales de ladrillo.

Pelegudos es un despoblado perteneciente a Campo de Cuéllar (Segovia). Antes de 1528 ya habría desaparecido y su único vestigio es el abside de su iglesia mudejar del siglo XIII cerrado con un muro a mampostería y sin ventanas, hoy llamada ermita de San Mamés.

📍Gin Lovers, Lisbon. 2025.

The issues at Newark Liberty had me stay an extra night in Lisbon, which is how I ended up here. Gin Lovers, as it's name implies, is a gin bar/ restaurant located in an old moorish/mudejar palace in the Principe Real neighborhood of Lisbon.

This bar has a full cocktail menu but the bartenders are explicitly gin nerds and you'll only really see their personality come out when you start talking to them about the gins. They have about 20 or so different varieties and also distill their own brand in-house (the batch I sampled was pepper forward but very yummy).

Transit delays always suck, but this place was delightful and did a lot to inflate my mood 😋

Ventanas mudéjares

Se levantó en torno a 1160 formando parte de la muralla de Villalpando (Zamora) y llegó a ser la iglesia más importante del pueblo. Su techumbre se derrumbó en 1933 resistiendo este triple ábside románico mudéjar. Ahora el obispado la cede al Ayuntamiento para rehabilitarla.

Riolobos (Salamanca) es un despoblado convertido en un grupo de fincas privadas agropecuarias. La torre de su iglesia resiste por su buena fábrica pese a los parches.
En su término está un azud artificial que además de uso de regadío es punto de encuentro de miles de aves.
