A recent EPA report reveals that Huon Aquaculture administered over a tonne of antibiotics during a bacterial outbreak earlier this year. Alarmingly, wild fish near their Tasmanian lease showed antibiotic levels up to 12 times the legal limit for commercially sold salmon. While public health officials state there's no immediate risk to consumers, environmental groups and the public are raising serious concerns about aquaculture practices and marine ecosystem health.
