Result of many months of work - over 15,000 LEDs to make a dim room. For #neotropolis

The triangles on the front are segments of 32 addressable LEDs, but were just solid white most of the time. The window clock is sheets of WS2816 driven by Novastar processor. The columns are RGBW DMX512. (one color per column.)

The columns are laser cut. The mirror pieces are CNC'd with my home brew CNC. (Because the edges are beveled) The counter top & window are routed with CNC'd templates for the arcs.

At #Neotropolis we got these bracelets that I think are #RFID. They triggered some things but also a guy wearing a #DEFCON shirt I talked to for a little bit scanned it and was building his own little contact book.

I did some searching online but could use more direct suggestions (you know how search engines are these days): how do I start building shit like that?

Tearing down #Neotropolis today. It’s been some of the most fun I’ve ever had but I’m also ready to go home. And for real the most fun was the building it all.

Also had some travel troubles to #neotropolis that cost me an unexpected $400 so that’s a bummer.

Service is pretty bad out here at #neotropolis but I’ll post all about it when I get home

I've always had a love of the cyberpunk aesthetic, long before the Cyberpunk 2077 game was even a concept, and always found the look sexy... a mix of man and advanced machine.

At the end of a long and extremely toxic relationship, I definitely had zero self confidence in my looks at the time and wanted to do something which made me happy while giving me my confidence back. I'd wanted a full sleeve tattoo for awhile, but could never decide what it should be until I came across an insanely cool looking cybernetic arm using only blackwork and negative space for the design.

After finding an artist who I absolutely loved her line work and designs, I reached out and provided some reference photos of what I was looking to get and complete artist freedom with my only requirements would be the design would incorporate my exiting tattoo on my forearm and extend to my right shoulder-blade to coverup an old tattoo.

Roughly 48 hours across 8 sessions spread out over a year (due to her daily rate), with a few back to back sessions, and this was the result. No stencil was used and the design was created in sections with each session.

Now that I'm three events in and apparently hooked, it's time to start thrifting in earnest for my daily jackets. I need two kick-ass and weather-versatile jackets to start accumulating my event patches on. One that's sleek and cyber-ey for #Neotropolis and one that's tough and scrumpable for #WastelandWeekend

Was able to finish the bike in time for #neotropolis . It was a lot of fun riding around the campground, looking at other camp sites. The bike's retro-future looks fit right in with the setting.
