View from a boat on a sunny day in the southern end of Netarts Bay, OR. The waters are calm, and perspective is looking at the hills on the southern rim of the bay, and past the view of the boat’s passenger windshield and my arm a small part of the Netarts Spit is visible.

Two dungeness crabs inside of a crab trap are brought aboard the boat, ready to be inspected for sex and size, as only male crabs of a certain width are permissible to keep with a recreational shellfish license.

Me, dressed for the unexpectedly warm and sunny weather wearing a life jacket, preparing to shake out a cast of crabs from the trap and back into the bay. These crabs were all either too small or females. Behind me is the Oregon mainland, the eastern ridge of Netarts Bay.

I took my brother and friends to #Netarts #Bay, #Oregon for some butter #clamming yesterday evening, the three clammers (two just learned) among us got our limits of 20 each! it took a long time for me to clean my limit 😵 butter #clams are great in the #shell seasoned with garlic salt and butter on a grill or in an oven, and this #clam in particular is delicious in a #clamchowder! #PNW #OregonCoast #coast #Tillamook #sandbarsaturday #beach #outdoors #shellfish
