The watch house at the parish kirkyard, dating from 1829. The little windows were so that a gun could be fired randomly to scare off any would-be bodysnatchers.
I think they look like eyes...

Haunted Station

While traveling east a couple of years ago, I came across this old, abandoned train station. Located in Alabama, near the border with Georgia, it stood as a quiet reminder of journeys long past. I have a passion for capturing old structures like this and often find myself wondering about the stories they hold from another time.

"The scientific name for this station is Rusticus Loco Antiqua—an endangered species of transit hub, frequently spotted in ghost stories and urban exploration blogs." - Copilot

My photo gallery features over 1200 carefully selected images. While most are chosen for their visual appeal, a few stand out as novelty shots. Feel free to explore my gallery at:

"This image evokes a profound sense of abandonment and loss. It features an old train station, whose wooden structure bears the scars of time and decay. The wood is weathered, chipped, and faded, as though the elements have eroded its former vitality. The roof, clad in rusted metal sheets, hints at a past life filled with activity and purpose. A lone brick chimney stands defiantly atop the building, an echo of warmth that once emanated from within.

The windows, shattered and empty, are like vacant eyes gazing out at the world—once a portal to movement and connection, now filled with silence. The doors remain closed, safeguarding nothing but memories of bygone days. Around the building, nature has taken over; wild bushes, tall grasses, and sprawling trees crowd around the structure as if to reclaim their territory.

Before the station, disused train tracks lie forgotten and forlorn. They are coated in rust, littered with debris, and veiled by the encroaching weeds. The tracks seem to stretch into oblivion, symbolizing journeys that will never resume.

Above it all, the sky mirrors the mood of the station, with dark, brooding clouds mingling with streaks of light. The interplay of shadows and sun illuminates the station in a haunting glow, highlighting its desolation. A yellow tint from the setting sun adds a wistful touch, as though bidding farewell to this piece of history." - Copilot
Salem Lutheran Church, near Callington, South Australia. Built in 1890 and still in use for weekly services. The clock has stopped at 10:00 - missed opportunity to set it to 10:04.
