My Pixel 4a is not feeling well.
I have already replaced the battery and USB port once. But lately it keeps losing connection with its SIM card.

As I am very pleased with my phone, and I wanted to hold on to it. But I think it is time for a replacement.

So I am looking at these two possible replacements
- Pixel 9a
- Fairphone gen 6

Anyone here using one of these? How do you like it, and why?

Last night, I burned /e/OS on my old Pixel 4a. I figured I should research this OS to see how it performs, because my next phone might be one with this OS preinstalled.

The installation process was not painless. I had to restart it about 4 times. One reason for this is that for some baffling reason, I had to move USB ports because the web installer couldn't connect to the phone while in fastboot mode when the phone was connected to the port I initially connected it to.

Der #Akku meines #Pixel6a hat sich kürzlich dem Augenschein nach ebenso aufgebläht, während ich passenderweise auf ein neues Gerät migriert bin. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass #Google dieses Problem bei neueren Geräten in den Griff bekommen hat und #GrapheneOS die Maßnahmen und Vorabwarnungen ebenso umsetzt...

Slowly coming to terms with the fact that even though #Google bricked my #pixel4a, it's likely that my next phone will be also a Google branded phone.

Have there been any reports of #Pixel4a phones bursting into flames?

It was one of the reasons speculated for why Google utterly bollixed the battery life in their update a couple of months ago. I've got an old #Pixel #4a & flashed it with LineageOS (& before anyone asks, no it's not my primary device). So far it hasn't exploded & I very much doubt it will, but I'm curious if this speculation was supported by any evidence or even anecdotes.

Mich ärgert es so, dass ich jetzt mir ein neue Smartphone kaufen muss. Meins funktioniert noch prima, ist von der Leistung mehr als ausreichen und der Akku ist auch noch Okay. Aber es gibt keinen Herstellersupport mehr und auch keine Sicherheitsupdates. Damit ist es sowohl bei #calyxos als auch #grapheneos raus.
