@ascentale @theantlady @bikenite I went belt-drive and gave up chains. Wash with water after each ride and done. #bikenite #prioritybicycles

@ascentale @moz @bikenite Can anyone cite the German standard for non-flashing lights? I have a built-in rear light off the front wheel dynamo of my #prioritybicycles 600 and it's steady. I have an additional rear USB light from #pdw and I always run it on flash to save battery life. #bikenite

@ascentale @bikenite Joining bikenite from south central Minnesota on a warm, smokey evening. Wild fires in western Canada are terrible this year and the smoke is already drifting east and south so Air Quality warnings are going up. Which didn’t stop me from a 30 mi gravel ride Tuesday in the last of the rain. New in cycling was getting around to swapping the belt on my #prioritybicycles and the quiet is back in my ride! @bikenite #bikenite

Tuesday Night Gravel last night was a bit damp and smaller groups, but a good day since I got out on the #prioritybicycles. Toured the spring planting. Almost came off over some potholes but managed to keep my seat. Then laid the bike down at the end going over a road construction curb but managed to land on my feet since I was going so slow. Have to do some adjusting today to get things back to proper positions. #tng #BikeTooter #gravel

A wide angle view of a gravel farm path between two newly planted fields. On either side of the path a small swath of green grass lines the tire tracks. In the middle distance a single bicycle with a rider in blue is visible. In the far distance a group of riders can just be seen as small dots. The sky overhead is cloudy with the base of the clouds swirling and unsettled as rain showers were passing.A group of bicycle riders on a gravel road in the early evening dusk. The road fills the lower center of the photo, then narrows in the picture as it goes into the distance and veers off in the top left corner of the photo. The riders are wearing various colored jerseys and jackets under a cloudy evening sky. On the right side of the photo a large tree overhangs the road from lower right to center top and right. A green field with more trees can be seen in the distance.

@RichSPK Yes, a 600. Got it 2 years ago, just over 7k miles. My one and only bike. Gravel, trails, roads, with trailer and/or panniers. Love it. #prioritybicycles

Today’s bicycle task was not to ride, but to fix the sqeek on my #prioritybicycles belt. Only 6800 miles on the belt but due to a user-error event last year it was damaged and while still operating fine, made a loud squeeking noise with every rotation. Even got my Gates cricket to work again and got the tension set. Now that I know to change out the screws every 2nd time and have the proper torque wrench, stuff “magically worked”. Once again, proper tool for the proper job #BikeTooter

2025-05-10

@ascentale @DurableAce @bikenite Well, I have a small multi-hex tool that I use more than anything to tighten stuff up periodically. Next to that, my ProTool torque wrench as the tension system on my #prioritybicycles needs to be seriously torqued (15Nm) when adjusting the tension. #bikenite

@ascentale @bikenite I sometimes have that issue with my #prioritybicycles 600, seems to be a bit of a problem for me. But, once I figured it out, I often reverse or change the direction I’m leaning (if possible) and it’s fine. Otherwise I’m using a velco or reuseable twist tie to keep the front wheel from moving when trying to park. #bikenite

If you’re considering purchasing a Priority bicycle and have a Costco membership there are some models available for sale that are a nice discount from the standard price. Such as an e-Classic Plus (now with throttle) in a couple configurations and colors.

“Can a commuter e-bike handle a 200+ mile ride from Seattle to Portland? That was the question that started this experiment. Every July for the past 44 years, Cascade has hosted their annual Seattle to Portland (STP) ride. Over the course of two days, thousands of people ride their bikes along the 206 mile route.”

I love riding my #prioritybicycles 600 #bicycle around rural #MNastodon We’re finishing the warmest and dryest September on record here and the fields are really close to ready for harvest. I just wish I had the talent to capture the scenes I see. But, it’s what I got from enjoying a great 25 mile ride in “second August”.

A black bicycle posed on the side of a gravel road. A field of grasses with yellow flower tops is visible across the photo behind the bike and road. At the far side of the field a line of trees stretches across the view. A vivid blue sky is above the trees with a couple small white clouds just in view.A black bicycle posed on the side of a gravel road. Past the bicycle is a field of tall corn plants. All the corn stalks are brown and dry. Just above the tops of the corn, a small corner of a farm outbuilding can be seen in the far distance. The roof of the building is a light tan color that matches the gravel road. A light blue sky is visibile above the entire picture.

Things I do not have to do before a long distance ride:
- Make sure my bike chain is lubed
- Make sure my bike chain is clean
- Check my tyre pressure
- Carry a tube, sealant, or pump

@ascentale @sam I have to throw my #prioritybicycles 600 into the mix if you are not into serious off-road touring. It’s a mostly commuter that can handle gravel roads easily and almost any incline. I use it with panniers and a single wheel trailer if I’m touring. The #pinion C.12 is twelve non-overlapping gears so you can go anywhere, you just don’t go fast. #bikenite

A Priority Bicycles model 600 with a single wheel trailer attached. The bicycle is black and has a pannier (i.e. Saddle bag) on one side of the rear rack. Water bottles are in two cages in the frame. The trailer is a single wheel type attached to the rear axel and is held upright by a double-leg stand and has a large yellow dry bag and tent stowed on it. In the background is a fence with “old” US Highway 61 signs indicating that Canada is 251 miles in one direcdtion, and New Orleans is 1361 miles in the other direction.

@natematias @ascentale @ThatPrilla @sam As as #prioritybicycles user, I was going to suggest looking at them. Many styles including folding are on their web site. #bikenite Be Aware, they are on-line only, no LBS network, but worth looking at.
