Just got finished setting up sqlc tooling for a monorepo with Go and Python. Now it will generate code for each language based on a single set of *.sql files with query statements. Python support is just beta, but these queries are not complicated.

The following two crates are "fun" for python:
#RubyLang is an extremely capable programming language. I've always wondered why 99% of the code for #LLM and #AI / #ML is done in #PythonLang and (for no obvious good reason) #JavaScript, #TypeScript, or #ECMAscript.
The on-ramp for Python may be easier, but it's overall less consistent and IMHO more obscure and less capable for introspection, DSLs, and for metaprogramming, so why is its ecosystem bigger for AI/ML? I wish someone would explain that in a non hand-wavey way.

There's been recent discussion about #POSIX & the #bash_shell. Some shells are awesome but don't even pretend to follow the POSIX standards. The #fish_shell is a good example.
Portability can be useful, but context matters too. Why deviate from standards? #LSB excludes #RubyLang but specifies #Perl & #PythonLang. #XDG is needlessly confusing. Distros may deviate from the #Linux #FHS because "reasons."
Goals & targets matter more than portability for its own sake.

- I've participated in the homebrew scenes for the Original Xbox, and the PS3
- On the note of consoles, I own: an #xboxone S, a #PS3, an #originalxbox, a #Wii, and a #GameCube
- Other than programming aligned interests, I really like:

- #cosplay - sadly I've never actually owned a cosplay or made one, however, I've been to quite a few comiccons around the UK, and one day, when I have the money, I'd love to make/buy a cosplay (I might make a cosplan post at somepoint?)

@skryking Personally, I will stick with #RubyLang until it's abandoned or a future version jumps the shark. Professionally, neither Ruby nor Rails is currently "new and shiny," and isn't really as commercially viable a skill as it used to be.
These things cycle. #PythonLang was a career dead-end until it re-emerged as the language of choice for NLP, various ML tools, and data sciece. Ruby's killer app was Rails, but that's not as highly sought these days as it once was.
Golang is such a joy to work in
granted I spent MANY years prior saying that about Python :-)
and Java/JVM before that
C before that
NEVER said that ever about Intel x86 Assembly. or C++. or Perl. or PHP. or Objective-C. or...
