Finally made it through the Nod campaign of the first Command & Conquer! 💥

I had to exploit several errors of the enemy AI to get anywhere in the final missions.

(And to make things worse, the last mission 13c has a bug that can corrupt save games.)

To be honest: in the end, it felt more like a chore.

But I am still glad I pulled through and saw the final cutscene. 🙂

But now my thirst for RTS games is quenched for the time being. 😅

I was snooping around this new #steam #nextfest and decided to try out the demo for a remaster of Outlive 25, an obscure #realtimestrategy from 2000 and ... I genuinely was not expecting such direct responses, even by a unit called the dominator

The game itself looks fun though, it does some neat things (the buildings need to be connected to the electric line to operate, you can automatize research and other stuff)

Still playing Warcraft 3, today I've reached the third mission of the night elfs campaign, to make the recording extra special, I let the undead cut all the trees to get the unique fail cutscene, I always like when games do that, give you a glimpse of an alternative timeline, it's part of the reason why I love reversed campaigns in RTS

To expand a bit on why I think Kohan 2 is more complex than the first Battle for Middle Earth: you can customize the squads individual elements to make them however you want, this granular control over your troops makes resource management more complex since you have to take in account the upkeeps of each individual unit, but it's also incredibly cool, as it allows creating any combination you may want
