This pattern is so common that I suspect most people who say this don't even know Google Scholar exists, let alone have actually tried to read a paper.
I'm 100% convinced that "Wikipedia is untrustworthy" is only ever brought up to win an argument, because usually it's a pretty good source without having to spend days on research.

I wasn't 100% sure I heard right till I found the full text. But YES, she misquoted Martin Luther King, Jr. She said this:

Was it deliberate or merely incompetent on the speechwriter's part?
@Paragone Sodom and Gomorrah was about inhospitality, sexual abuse of guests, and rampant injustice that sounds a lot like the America of today.
What it was not about, was gay people engaged in loving relationship with each other. Love, and consensual Intimacy, can never be considered wickedness.
