Anlässlich des #EUCO Rates in Brüssel und dort dem #MFR auf der Tagesordnung (neben Hilfsgeldern Ukraine und Mercosur) durfte ich in der @FR für @NABU darauf hinweisen, dass der nächste EU-Haushalt die Umweltkrisen nicht ausreichend berücksichtigt und mehr Schein als Sein herrscht. On the EU policy agenda: will Ursula @vonderleyen the 3 (or 10) December bring out a simplification ENVI #Omnibus (with focus on digitalisation) or a deregulation one that wants to kill the #RestoreNature Law. Will she, the 16 December, allow unlimited #Pesticides licening or continue with the precautionary principle. And will she stand firm behind the ban of climate harmful #combustion engines against #Merz call which would kill the DE car industry?!

As we could just read (in ENDS Europe) that Commissioner #Dombrovskis from @EUCommission wanted to include the #RestoreNature Law in the Environment #Omnibus foreseen for 3 December, we send a clear message: #HandsOffNature - this is a stupid idea, this piece of legislation has just been agreed on. Deregulation and stop the clock will hinder the implementation process and cause nature and climate disasters!

Rather unique: EP groups to reject CAP/Cohesion part of the #EUBudget MFF. Most likely they do not aim for the same outcame. If they wanted to improve: ringfence money for agri-environment-climate measures, sharpen the farm stewardship, introduce a funding line to #RestoreNature!
Our so-called Leaders at the #EUCO apparently did not seem to seize the urgency, but at least did not kill the (already insufficient) 2040 EU #climate target. Still: a totally unnecessary extra lap that was taken, delaying the whole process.
