Robinson Soma Bay zwischen Luxus, Kids-Chaos, Partywoche – und Fischschwärmen
Dieser Tage war ich in Ägypten in Urlaub. Wieder im Robinson Club in Soma Bay und habe dort eine schöne Zeit bei tollem Wetter verbracht. Vor allem habe ich genossen, wieder zu schnorcheln und viele der bunten Fische zu sehen. Noch ist das Riff nahe dem Club in einem akzeptablem Zustand und man tut auch vieles, um es zu erhalten, aber Tourismus tut halt generell nicht gut.
Es ist schon ein Luxusurlaub, den man sich leisten können muss. Und das Publikum ist speziell. Diesmal habe ich die letzte Ferienwoche von Bayern erwischt. So waren auch viele Kids da, die abends dann die Tische auf der Terrasse gestürmt und für ihren Anhang reserviert haben. Keine Chance gegen diese Flitzer, die von ihren Eltern beauftragt werden.
In der zweiten Hälfte war dann Deep Red Week, die Partywoche im Club, die zweimal im Jahr stattfindet. Und schon sah man ein ganz anderes Publikum, Partylöwinnen und -löwen, die bei oft zu lauter Musik von Schlager bis Techno eine Woche bis zur Erschöpfung abfeiern. Ich habe es nur kurz erlebt und bin dann abgereist. Nicht meine Musik, aber jedem Tierchen …
Und ja, neben vor Selbstbewusstsein strotzenden Rolex-Trägern und Designerklamotten und -taschen tragenden Begleiterinnen sind auch nette, halbwegs normale Menschen dort. Und wir kennen halt auch ein paar Leute, mit denen wir gut können. Trotzdem ist es manchmal schwierig, wird sich aber vielleicht eh erledigen.
Die Gerüchteküche brodelt, ein neuer Robinson-Club soll für Erwachsene gebaut werden, der jetzige renoviert und zu einem Kinderclub umgebaut werden. Ich (und viele andere Stammgäste) würden es genau umgekehrt machen, den neuen Club als Kinderclub bauen und den jetzigen für Erwachsene vorsehen. Anyway, irgendwann werden wir uns das eh nicht mehr leisten, trotz des tollen Strands und unserer Fische.

Wouldn't be a huge surprise if true: Musk rescinded 'Robinson's' Twitter ban early on, and has repeatedly attacked the UK government over his prosecution. The richest man on the planet is using his obscene wealth to promote right-wing extremism on a global scale. Totally normal in 2025.
