In August 2018, a study reported that the Burmese military and local Buddhists had k*lled over 24,000 Rohingya since the start of the "genocide" on August 25, 2017.

The study also highlighted that more than 18,000 Rohingya women & girls had been r*ped, 116,000 had been beaten, and 36,000 had been burned alive. In the initial month of the crackdown, at least 6,700 to 7,000 Rohingya, including 730 children, were killed.

Hundreds of Indonesian university students stormed a refugee shelter, forcefully evicting Rohingya refugees and demanding their immediate deportation. Footage showed the Rohingya women and children sitting on the ground, terrified and in tears. At the same time, the mob trampled over their belongings and attempted to attack them. The students forced the 137 Rohingya refugees out of the temporary shelter and onto trucks to deport them.

Rohingya refugees living in Indian-occupied Jammu are fearing arrest after a series of raids targeted at locals sheltering them were conducted by security forces in the Bathindi area of Jammu city. Police conducted the raids in at least 29 locations confiscating documents and investigating those who have assisted the refugees according to media reports. According to official data, there are around 13,700 refugees who have settled in the region.
