Digital SimCity-style newspaper for retro fans :spinningdisc:
Ist zwar jetzt nur ne Kleinigkeit und eine einzelne Seite, aber hier wäre noch die Schnellstartanleitung für die SimCity 2000 Szenariendiskette, Vol. 1: "Große Katastrophen". Die deutsche Fassung hatte ich bisher noch nirgends im Netz gesehen.

Found this on a retail disk. I guess this was once pretty funny ... 😉

@esi https://github.com/heetbeet/SimCity-2000-portable probably was the source. My own readme.txt just says "copy the game folder to 'C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 2000' so that the newspaper is working" 😅 Feel free to PM me and I'll upload it to my FTP for you. It's really nice to use this windowed.
sometimes I completely lack the motivation to do anything.. but then there's SimCity2000! 💙 There's a patched version that runs under Win10/11 with native resolution.. which is nice.

@sautzenberger Sorry to keep you waiting, friend. I am making good progress, but I am also working on other things, too. I'll put up a link to the PDF as soon as it's done. 😉
Back in 1993/94, SimCity 2000 for MS-DOS and Macintosh was super popular! So... one would think, finding the official PDF manual today should be easy as pie. But, strangely, it's not! - When you browse online libraries, all you ever find is that horrible "online" version with huge navigational arrows at the bottom of each page. Thanks, but "No, thanks!".
Oh well. Since no one else in the retro community seems to be volunteering, I am taking this into my own hands now. It will probably take a few days, but this one will be uploaded to archive.org shortly. Have fun!
While I was just dumping a pair of 1440k floppy disks, I ran into an uncorrectable bad sector. Luckily, the error only occured within the very last track 79.1, which was only filled with the usual MS-DOS binary pattern of "..F6 F6 F6.." anyway. Fixing this with a hex editor was easy as pie.
To cut a long story short, here are the setup disks of SimCity 2000 for Windows 3.1. I tested them in PCem and 86Box. They're perfect!
