The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued its first-ever fine related to space debris prevention, requiring Dish Network to pay $150,000. The fine was imposed because Dish failed to properly deorbit a broadcast satellite, EchoStar-7, last year. The satellite was supposed to be moved to a disposal orbit but ended up at an orbit well below what was required by its license, potentially posing a space debris concern. While the fine is directed at Dish Network, the FCC's action signals that it is ready to enforce regulations on other satellite constellations as well, such as Starlink.

NASA has selected seven companies to provide commercial satellite imagery as part of its Commercial Smallsat Data Acquisition Program. These companies include Umbra, Capella Space, GHGSat, Maxar's intelligence division, PlanetIQ, Spire, and Airbus Defence and Space subsidiary Airbus DS GEO. The contract has a maximum potential value of $476 million and a duration of five years, with an option to extend it by six months. NASA aims to complement its suite of Earth observations data with higher resolutions, increased temporal frequency, or other novel capabilities provided by these commercial satellite constellations. This initiative is part of NASA's broader effort to collaborate with commercial firms and support the development of technologies that can benefit its missions.

Just saw what looked to be a satellite, but it appeared to resemble two very closely packed dots instead of one. Like maybe twice the width apart than the xamidimura constellation. Checked, ISS isn't due to pass over for another half an hour, and it's on the other half of the sky.

Two craft undergoing rendezvous maybe? it was certainly something in orbit because it was going in a straight line at a constant speed. Probably a little slower than the ISS.

Roughly 6:14pm AEST, Hobart TAS, going south-westerly to north-westerly.

Klassieke zenders vindt U 19° links van het zuivere zuiden. Als u achter de schotelantenne staat.
Plaats je liever je schotel op de grond, installeer nooit achter een kleine boom, want deze belemmert de schotel , en de boom blijft groeien.
