Just so you know, even on a clear day I can rarely see Mt Tahoma, let alone get a nice snapshot of it. On the left a photo of the Mountain on a clear day: you can't see it for the usual haze! And I did dehaze. On the right a photo taken a couple of weeks ago

A very hazy view of Mt Tahoma from a corner on my street; in fact all you can really see is a lie of white which could be mistaken for a contrail and a vaguely blue line. The sky is very blue, the street, which is on a steepish hill, is full of noon time shadows that look like late afternoon; there are the ubiquitous electrical wires, and there are a lot of trees on either side and down below.A lovely blue, lavender and lilac sunset view of our nearby volcano, Mt. Tahoma, from Maple Leaf Park.

Pixie cup lichens sneaking out from behind a broken fence slat

A row of powdery green thalluses of pixie cup (so named because they look like long stemmed cups) lichens grow on a fence. They look like they are sneaking out from behind a red fence slat. Another rainy day scene.

Blue sky with hazelnut catkins, Seattle today
#Photography #SeattleWashington #SeattleWinter #SacajaweaPark #BloomScrolling 😁

Looking up at a very blue sky in a, park in Seattle. The sky is framed by overarching hazelnut tree branches full of powdery yellow catkins hanging down on the left, and by a grove of cottonwoods and pines on the right.

A border plant with smooth, green, shiny oval leaves is full of white flowers and a few shiny black berries. The flowers are creamy white and look shaggy. They are very sweet scented.

A photo from above of a velvety dark reddish brown mushroom cap with a lighter brown edging. There is a tipped cap next to it showing a dark stem attachment point and creamy brown gills radiating to the edge. The mushrooms are in a bed of leaves, wood chips and pine needles, all in shades of brown.

Silk tassel bush (Garrya elliptica) blooming in the park. Although it doesn't grow natively quite this far north, it thrives in our climate.

A silk tassel bush is blooming, with a cluster of long flower catkins in a light olive green hanging down from a branch, surrounded by green leaves. The catkins look as if each small frilly bell-shaped flower were growing out of the one above it. The leaves are smooth and leathery, with a wooly underside..

A small brick house, perched on the side of a steep paved city street, is painted purple with cream white trim. It is in the old workman square style, with a front addition, a white fence, and a garage off to the side below. The windows are nice and large. The roof is gray tile. There are Douglas firs behind it. The sky is Seattle gray.

There is a very large house built on a similar sized plot off to the left. The first time I saw it I thought it was an office building, but it's one of the Colorado mine shaft styles so popular here. I am surprised at how little clearance there is between it and the older houses on each side, since it seems to be a fire hazard. Perhaps Seattle didn't learn its lesson in 1889.

A garden decoration made up of wire and colorful beads, this fish almost disappeared in the grassy stuff because it has no filler! I just noticed it because it looked at first as if someone had tossed a handful of children's bracelet beads on the ground. It is shaped a bit like a salmon, our big native fish, swimming upstream. It's fierce eye is a wire coil.Another garden fish, this one is made of rusty iron painted verdegris green. It seems to be a vase shaped like a koi fish, swimming in the garden debris.

"There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

A bright orange nasturtium flower braves the cold and rain, standing tall on its stem above a single round bright green leaf. There is another flower bud behind, waiting its turn. You can see the flower boxes behind them as background.

A madrone tree has an odd trunk. The main trunk leans sharply to the right, almost parallel to the ground. The secondary trunk veers off away into a madrone thicket behind it. The tree trunks are a typical umber brown, with streaks of orange and dark brown. The leaves are at the well-branched crowns of the trunks, dark green, and glossy with rain. The scene is set on a gravelled park path with a picnic table under the trees, and shrubby under growth on either side. There is a foggy haze under the rainy sky.

Bright cheery hellebores
That bright green "lawn" is a moss lawn, grass interspersed with a lot of moss, which some people actively work on.

Bright pink 5 petaled hellebore flowers cluster above their green palmate leaves in a well tended garden border edging a bright green mossy lawn. The flowers have a yellow heart and are set on sturdy red stems.
