Growing up, during cold winter weather I was taught to check on our neighbors. Not only the elderly on the street, everyone nearby to make sure they were ok.

We helped each other shovel snow, shared stories of what we've been doing, and as kids, built snowmen and snow forts.

Today, I helped our 90-year-old neighbors carry groceries from their car into their house.

Checked on our 30-something single neighbor as well as family of 3 teenagers and mom to make sure they were ok.

Enjoying my new one-handle kitchen faucet. We had a two-handle kitchen faucet for years.

Now I can turn on the water with my forearm when my hands are sticky, and not get the handle sticky.

I am enjoying nearly everything about MacOS after abandoning Windows some time ago. The exception is Finder (MacOS) vs File Explorer (Windows). I am sick of Finder creating a new directory (aka folder) in the root, rather than the directory that I want it created in.

I have just found a right-click option in Finder - "New terminal at folder". So I can right-click on the directory where I want to create a sub-directory, open a terminal window at that folder and then "mkdir" a new subfolder. Woohoo!

I still get a kick out of getting a glass of ice water and the ice, for a moment, staying on the bottom of the glass and I feel like I've managed to defy the laws of physics. I have a simple mind. #smallthings #water #physics #feebleminded

While life was awful for a while after the twins were born, I think I learned to appreciate the small, beautiful moments more.
Like seeing the first light of the morning through the big, old tree in the distance from our kitchen window while preparing their bottles .
Or like this morning, waking up and hearing the rain dripping while having 5 more minutes to lay in bed before having to go to work.

Don't forget, life is beautiful.

Effective immediately and definitively, I no longer use scotch brite pads and similar in my #restorations, #woodworking, or anything else. These products fall apart into plastic dust as they are used, going straight into the environment.

There is a global #microplastics problem. And with the new study released about them accumulating in our brains, as well other organs, well…

We need to do better since corporations & governments won’t. The onus is on us.
