@danielquinn Hi, Daniel.
Welcome to the #SolarpunkInstallParty 😀 🥳 🌞 🐝
If you don't mind, I'll respond here to the comment you left on the #SolarpunkInstallParty web article, so the conversation has more visibility. 😀
«This is a great idea, but a massive undertaking».
Thank you so much for your interest.
«Solarpunk and mapping software are some of my favorite topics».
Cool!
«The software alone is a huge effort, and that’s before you take into account the process of actually getting people to use it and build a community around it».
You're absolutely right, the #SolarpunkInstallParty I'm proposing is huge, it could be overwhelming, require a huge collective effort, and it could also be exciting :blobcattoot: .
«my skills are limited to server-side web development. You’ll need some rather talented front-end developers with AR experience, web designers for the website and probably some copy editors to help with translations»
As you rightly point out, the proposal is so ambitious that people with very diverse knowledge profiles must participate, each covering a small part. This, despite the difficulty, should have a positive impact on this adventure. For my part, up to now, I've focused my efforts on developing the conceptual material for the Gooeyware Organizational System, and now I'm in the process of focusing on developing its software implementation (resuming my software development studies, which I completed until 2008).
«Are you setting things up on a repo (hopefully not GitHub) somewhere? How do people get involved?»
I'm glad you asked how we can get involved. Currently, what you see is what you get. Do you have any suggestions for tools we could use?
